If you are completing the online form and your potential employer has specifically requested that we verify your current employment, we will attempt to verify that employment without direct contact to the employer and may request documentation from you.
If your potential employer has not specifically requested that we verify your current employment, our system will auto close that employment if you answer "no" to the question "Do we have permission to contact your current employer"?
If you previously indicated when completing your online form that we had permission to contact your current employer and now wish to revoke that permission, you will need to contact customer service so that we can attempt to stop the processing of your current employment verification, which may already be in progress. Otherwise, we will continue to process the verification as normal and may request supporting documents from you.
If you previously indicated when completing your online form that we did not have permission to contact your current employer and now wish to grant permission for us to contact them, we require written permission. Verbal permission CANNOT be accepted. You must provide written permission via a letter or email and include the following information:
Date
Your complete name
Employer name
Statement that we have permission to contact the current employer
Your signature
Please note you can upload the letter to Applicant Center or email the letter to documentation@hireright.com.
If this portion of your report has already been closed, you will need to contact your potential employer so they can determine next steps.
If you list a previous employer we will attempt to contact them to verify your employment per the wishes of the company that ordered your background check. However, if the employer was acquired by or affiliated with your current employer, there is a checkbox in the form to indicate that you do not want us to contact this company for this reason.
