Documentation is a helpful piece to any background check; examples of documentation that can be provided, depending upon your region, are: Diploma, certificate, copy of transcripts, relieving letter or acceptance of resignation, payslips, tax forms, work certificate, etc.

If you have gotten to this point, it is likely that the documentation has already been requested, and you are aware of the documentation needed.

* Log into the Applicant Center. (This can be accessed via the link you received within your email)

* Locate the information being requested and click on the hyperlink. If there is no link for the specific document, click Upload a Document. Pictured below:

Once you select the link: “Upload a Document” you will be able to select what type of document you are uploading from the drop-down menu, which may be different for all candidates:

You will be able to select a category, if the options provided are not relevant then you can select "other." Once you have selected a category you will be able to upload a file and provide a description of what you have uploaded as shown below:

Once the documentation is received, our HireRight Verification Team will update the report in up to 48 hours. If any other documentation or information is required, our verification team will reach out to you to request this.

To help expedite filing and processing of documents, please include your Request ID and/or the cover sheet when submitting the documents.

TIPS FOR SUBMITTING DOCUMENTATION

Q: What if I have documents but they don’t cover my start AND end dates?

A: While providing a document to represent your start and end date can make for a more complete verification, HireRight can use any acceptable document(s) you have per HireRight requirements and the hiring company's requirements to complete an employment verification. Discrepancies may apply.

Q: Can I call to see if my documents (faxed or emailed) were received by HireRight?

A: Unfortunately, the representative cannot confirm receipt of your document until it has been processed. To help expedite filing and processing of documents, please include your Request ID and/or the cover sheet when submitting the documents.

Q: Are there any file/size limitations for documents being sent to HireRight?

A: Yes, our system does have some limitations. HireRight cannot:

  • convert or open "zip" files

  • convert or open "password protected" documents/files

  • convert or open corrupted files/documents; convert or open unknown file extensions

  • convert or open any document utilizing a "link"

  • upload documents/files over 20 MB when sending documentation, please ensure the document does not exceed 20 Mb. If documentation exceeds this size, the documents may need to be split into two or more transactions.

  • HireRight does not recommend emailing in documentation that was taken by a mobile device as there can be picture degradation; HireRight recommends uploading this documentation directly to your report.
